Brigadier The Honourable Carlos Lovell joined the Barbados Defence Force on 22nd July 1998. He embodies the qualities of a soldier, officer, and gentleman.

He graduated with merit from Kings College London with a Master of Arts in Defence Studies. He is a graduate of the Joint Services Command and Staff College (UK) and the Special Operations School, Shijiazhuang Army Command Academy, People's Republic of China.

Captain (Naval) Mark Peterson, JP, Dip.EDM, MSc (Dist), MMAS, PCSC

Captain (Naval) Mark Peterson enlisted in the Barbados Defence Force on 31 March 2000 and has consistently demonstrated the highest standards of excellence.

His initial training was as an infantry platoon commander in Trinidad and Tobago in 2001, where he received the coveted Baton of Honour. He subsequently graduated from the Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, United Kingdom.

Lieutenant Colonel Julia Alicia DaBreo

Lieutenant Colonel Julia Alicia DaBreo enrolled in the Barbados Defence Force in August 1994. She has served 9 years in Enlisted Ranks and 21 years in the Officers' Corps.

Her appointments include Officer In Charge of Health Services, Staff Officer Operations and Training, Aide-de-Camp to the Governor General and President of Barbados, and Commanding Officer of the Barbados Regiment.

Lieutenant Commander Derrick Arrundel Brathwaite

Lieutenant Commander Derrick Arrundel Brathwaite was officially appointed Commanding Officer of the Barbados Coast Guard on 18 September 2024, having served in this appointment on two previous occasions.

He enlisted in January 1997 with over 27 years of service. He is a graduate of Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, and the Naval Command and Staff College of the PLA Navy, Nanjing, China.

Commander Carl Farley

Commander Carl Farley has spent more than thirty-one years in various capacities in the petroleum industry. A former Science Teacher in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics, he joined the staff of the Mobil Oil Barbados Refinery as Laboratory Supervisor in July 1986.

He has progressed through various positions in three major petroleum organizations: the former Mobil Oil Corporation (now ExxonMobil), Royal Dutch Shell, and presently the Sol Group.

Major Pedro Emmanuel Drakes, BSc, PJSC

Major Pedro E. Drakes enlisted in the fulltime element of the Barbados Defence Force on 2 September 1989. During his formative years, he held positions such as Section Commander, Recruit Training Instructor, Information Technology Administrator and Systems Network Administrator.

He attended various military training courses locally and internationally, such as the Canadian Forces School of Electronics and Communication, specializing in Information and Communications Technology.
